How to read what you just calculated
The Day Pillar is you
The stem of the Day Pillar — your Day Master — is the reference point for everything else. The other seven characters are read by their relationship to it, which is what the Ten Gods labels above express.
The Month Pillar is the season
The month branch sets the climate your Day Master must live in. The same Day Master reads strong in one season and weak in another — strength is judged against the month first.
Hidden stems are the fine print
A branch is not one element but a small storehouse. The hidden stems decide which Ten Gods are merely present and which are rooted — the difference between a passing trait and a structural one.
Luck pillars are the weather
The natal chart is the landscape; each 10-year luck pillar is a decade of weather moving across it. The same chart reads very differently under a supporting pillar than under a clashing one.
